The fund advisory team of palero consists of highly experienced specialists, who support transaction activities and oversee all commercial aspects. The partners combine more than 50 years of experience in operational management, corporate finance and private equity. The team operationally led companies throughout Europe with revenues between EUR 10 m to EUR 500 m and operating in different industries, such as the automotive, chemicals, trade, media, industrial and service sectors.
Altogether, the team was responsible for more than 40 relevant transactions. These involved all different transaction structures, buyer groups and contract partners from Europe, the USA and Asia.
As COO, Christian Daumann manages the operational business of the portfolio companies together with his team. He worked at a listed private equity investor prior to palero, where he commenced as turnaround manager for different companies and later on built up the firm’s UK business. Prior to that, Christian worked in several operational roles in various industries (General Motors, Mueller Milch, Visteon). He started his career at KPMG in M&A over 15 years ago.
Christian studied International Management and Business Studies with a major in Finance at the ebs London and ESC Lille.
Felix Frohn-Bernau is CEO of palero and responsible for HR, PR/IR and as Co-Head for M&A business. He worked at a listed private equity investor for seven years prior to palero. There, he worked as CEO and oversaw restructuring in different industries. Felix also managed a number of successful transactions. Last but not least, as a member of the board, he was responsible for all M&A activities of the Group. In 1999, Felix founded the Internet company dooyoo. After three years as CEO, he became a member of the supervisory board, which he belonged to until the successful sale of dooyoo in 2008.
Felix studied law in Cologne, Munich and Madrid and is an accredited M&A lawyer with licences to practice in Germany and Spain.
Conny E. Wuppermann
Conny Wuppermann is CFO at palero and responsible for all financing projects. As Co-Head she also manages M&A business. Prior to palero, Conny worked for a listed private equity investor, where she was an M&A Director. She is a specialist in distressed and carve-out M&A. Conny started her career at investment banking boutique Drueker & Co. in Frankfurt, Germany.
Conny studied Business Administration with a focus on Corporate Management and Finance at Leipzig Graduate School of Management, the University of Passau and at the University of Otago, New Zealand.
Bernd Schell is Managing Director at palero and responsible for the operational business of two of our portfolio companies. During his time at palero he already has managed three portfolio companies as CEO and was involved in several successful company exits.
Prior to that, Bernd worked at a listed private equity investor for five years. In the capacity of CEO he managed two companies there and then was responsible for the operational business of all subsidiaries as Group COO. Before entering the private equity business he worked at the Boston Consulting Group and hold operational marketing- and sales functions within the consumer sector.
Bernd studied Business Administration at the ebs Business School in Oestrich-Winkel and graduated with an MBA at the Thunderbird School of International Management in Arizona (USA).
As Managing Director, Tobias Sedlmayr is in charge of the M&A transactions and heads the respective team. He gained significant experience in investment banking and private equity in the last ten years. He was Director at goetzpartners and was responsible for complex cross-border transactions in different sectors.
Tobias studied Business Administration at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University Munich and the University of Calgary, Canada, and furthermore International Affairs at MGIMO, Russia.
As Managing Director, Phillip Wagner is responsible for the operational business of two of our portfolio companies. With palero he already played a successful role as CEO of cenadruck GmbH, which he led from acquisition until its further sale to a strategic investor.
He started his career in a private mid-cap holding company and then gained profound experience of restructuring management at two listed private equity companies.
Phillip studied Business Administration with a major in Strategic Management and Organization at the University Trier and the Pfeiffer University in Charlotte (USA).
Jan-David Fießinger is Investment Associate at palero. He gained four years professional experience at goetzpartners in corporate finance and advised numerous successful buy as well as sell-side transactions in the mid-cap sector prior to palero. His competencies are particularly in the areas of trans-border transactions, carve-out M&As, and financing.
Jan-David studied finance and accounting in St.Gallen and Madrid.
Maximilian Mühling is Investment Associate at palero. He gained significant practical experience in the financial sector through his work in investment banking over the last few years. Prior to palero, Maximilian worked for several years in the M&A division of Lazard and successfully advised, most recently as Associate, on several national and international buy- and sell-side transactions.
Maximilian studied International Business at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria and University Bocconi, Italy. In addition, he holds a Master degree in Finance from ESADE Business School, Spain.
As an assistant Yvonne Petersmann is responsible for office management at palero and supports the whole team in the daily business as well as during various projects as an assistant. In the past she gained experience in the national as well as in the international hotel business over a period of 7 years before she deepened her knowledge as assistant in a big consulting company and a Start-up.
Yvonne successfully completed her studies as „Hotelökonom” at the Steigenberger Akademie for Hotel Management.
Michaela Zachmann is responsible for Investor Relations and Portfolio Controlling at palero. Prior to palero, she worked at Star Ventures, a venture capital company with a one-billion-volume of investment and 180 portfolio companies. During that time, she first managed the Controlling department and then assumed responsibility for Investor Relations.
Michaela studied Business Administration at the University of Saarland.
